Amtrack Complaint - NYC To Central New York Using Unreliable Train Service

DEWITT, NEW YORK -- a call about 1 & half hours before scheduled departure of train to NYC rom employee stating the train would be 2 hrs late.... When made shocked 'oh god' comment, he wanted to know if I would like three hours!

Coming back decided had extra cash left so booked a dinning car train in middle of day... Figured not to busy then....

We all had to wait 3 hours to board late because the dining car they had didn't work so they had to wait to the train from New Orleans with their dinning car. Then when waiting now for dinner to be called, took 2 hours to set up and a 1/2 hour to service so we where near our destination when we ate!

Be thankful you got a call. If you were flying then you'd find out at the airport. Until this year current administration refused to provide a decent subsidy to AMTRAK They have had to make due with equipment badly in need of proper maintenance and much needed upgrades.AMTRAK has recently received a new subsidy of close to $1.6 billion which will be going a long way to improve service.
