Sears Complaint - Don't Use Sears Repair Service!!
BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA -- I am waiting for a Service Tech. to show up to 'fix' our Washer. They were supposed to be here between 8 to 12 this morning. I called at 11:30 to see what the deal was and after them checking with Tech was told it would be this afternoon. No call from Tech. or their repair center to tell me this. Yet I got a automated phone call last night reminding me of the appointment. And when you make the appointment online, they REQUIRE a credit card # so if you don't keep the appointment, they can charge you!! This was a reschedule to original appointment I made on this 2 days ago. They were to be here between 1 - 5. 4:30 I'm calling to check status. They check, tell me Tech. is on his way. While on the call with them I get another call, which I don't take, it goes to voice mail. I check it, it's an automated voice from Sears telling me that since they couldn't reach me, they are cancelling appointment and I need to call in to reset!! Hello!!!!!!!!! So I call back, get double talk, reset appointment and here I wait.
I have been a client of Sears for over 30 years. Re-evaluating my future purchases with them on appliances!!!
Sears Tech calls me at 1:50PM to get directions to my home - suppose to have been here between 8 am and noon!! I give him directions, he is 10 minutes away. 30 minutes later I'm calling him to see if he got lost, says he's 'right around the corner'. He shows up, tell him my problem, Timer in the switch that runs all your cycles is out. I had told them when I booked appointment that Timer was out. Sears had put a new Timer-Switch in about 7 or 8 years ago. He goes to his van, and is there for about 20 minutes. Comes in to tell me they can't find that switch - Washer is a GE, and that they could do some more research to see if they might be able to find the part. Ask him why they didn't know this when they came out, they had worked on it before. He looks 'puzzled'. Asks me a few questions and then tells me they have NO RECORD of ever working on the Washer. I tell him to forget it, that I wasn't happy with their service this time. That was this past Sat. afternoon 11/1. On Sunday, 11/2 I go to Lowe's and buy a new Washer. Would have checkout Sears and probably bought a Kenmore IF I hadn't had these problems. Don't plan on buying or even considering anymore Kenmore appliances in the future!! To bad!!
