BestBuy, Atlanta Informative - Geek Squad, Atlanta, GA

Review by ardeecee on 2008-11-01
ATLANTA, GEORGIA -- Having read so many negative reviews, I hesitated even to call the Geek Squad but, at 77 and not in good health, I knew I absolutely could not physically pick up the unit and take it to BestBuy. I called the 800 number and made an appointment with a very courteous young man in what he referred to as 'Mission Control.' The appointment was for ONLY 2 days hence. T On the scheduled date the 'Geek,' for want of a name, was prompt to the minute, appropriately dressed in a suit and tie. He was well spoken, courteous and knowledgeable about the task he was to perform. Whether, in consideration of my age and limited knowledge of my PC's 'innards' and 'performance standards,' he took time to assure himself that the service was completely acceptable to me.

The service was well worth the cost and I would not hesitate to recommend highly BestBuy Atlanta's 'Geeks' to anybody.

Wow, a positive post on Geek Squad. What service was provided and how much were you charged? Geek 'pressures' its so-called agents to sell more then actually make repairs.

You still would be better off finding a local small business to have work done for cheaper...and not have to worry about GS screwing it up.

I'm glad you had a positive experience with Geek Squad. It appears there might be one good apple in the barrel and you happened to get that good apple. I have a friend who called them a few years back and she said the Geek spent almost the entire time taking cell calls from other customers and from his end of the conversation it appeared he was straighting out other customer's problems while on her time. She refused to pay the bill since nothing was taken care of. I hope you got the Geek's name and personal telephone number. Your next call to their office might not go as nicely. Yours was a nice compliment and speaks well of the individual at your home.
