The Days Inn Complaint - Horrible Service - Hotel
On Oct 21/08 I reserved a room online with the Days Inn because when I called the front desk directly I was informed that the receptionist was 'busy and I would have to call back'
Upon reserving my room online, I did call back to confirm that the front desk agent did see it. The room was reserved for Oct 25, a king suite with jetted tub for 2.. because my husband and I were celebrating our one year wedding anniversary and call me sentimental but as we spent our wedding night at the Days Inn, in Moose Jaw, we thought it would be good to stay at the Days Inn, in Regina where we now both reside.
When the front desk agent went to confirm our reservation she immediatley cancelled it on us, informing me that they couldn't rent us a room as we are from Regina, and the hotel is in Regina. Meaning they do not rent to locals.
I am aghast as to what would have happened if I had not called to confirm but rather arrived on our anniversary to learn we did not have a room!
Further more instead of making it better, I submit a formal complaint to guest services who were assuring me that the hotel would deal with my complaint by October 31st /08 and if they did not, well they would make it right. Sure enough I have heard nothing from the local Days Inn, and today I spoke with someone from guest services who I can only describe as useless. She advised me that it was the hotels right to refuse service and that they are entittled to this. When I asked her where said policy is about refusing locals, she told me that it is available on line. I have yet to find this 'magical' policy.
Furthermore this person advised me that their supervisor looked into it and they will be taking no action to assist me with my complaint and when I asked to speak with a supervisor, I was advised that I would have to call them on Monday. What a wonderful staff person I spoke with for such an amazing hotel, why I so much admire the way they do business, that I am going to tell everyone just what I really think of the Days Inn.
The upcoming wedding in the family... they won't be blocking off rooms, I will never use it for work/travel and no one else will whom I share this story with. Why they are so confident in their success that they can treat their customers like fecal waste, why don't we all show them how people respond to being treated like despensible garbage!!!!
