Lawn Boy Complaint - Lawn Boy has a quality problem with its self-propelled mowers

Review by smi3522
I had a 5 year old Lawn Boy self-propelled lawn mower. Last summer it began to break down. The drive (transmission components) wore out. It was not because of lack of maintenance. Some of the components were sealed units not requiring any additional lubrication. I contacted the company (distributor) who said that was normal. After 5 years you can expect the transmission to fail. I asked then why should I pay a premium price for their product. I spent $270 for the repair. It worked for one summer and another component of the drive broke and it would cost me another $245. I left the Lawn Boy mower at the service center and bought a Honda. So far its been good.

Yeah so far its good, until 5 years from now when you experience the same problems

Have you ever felt the vibrations that go on in a lawn mower? If a Honda Civic vibrated like that it would be in pieces in 100 miles. Because of the current technology and the job at hand, Lawn mowers are still inefficient machines
