DirecTV Inc Complaint - Phone Solicitation Salesperson Flat Out Lied...
Within ten days of purchasing my DirectTV package, I was contacted in the middle of my workday by a salesperson with DirecTV. Now somewhere in the fine print of my contract it may say that they can contact me but I'm unaware of any such clause, and I'm on a "No Call List". She tells me she has a special promotion where I can get the "NFL Sunday Ticket" and the movie channels for $4 extra dollars a month for the next four months: and if I don't cancel the special promo before the end of those four months then it automatically reverts to the normal charge rate after four months. Thinking this was too good to be true, I made her repeat the offer over and over, and then I repeated what I heard her say back to her and asked if that was correct. She confirmed it was.
My first bill arrived and I was charged the full $79 rate for the NFL Sunday Ticket and given the movie channels free of charge. Calling customer service and complaining through a series of representative and supervisors made no difference as they held me responsible for the charge.
Agree to NOTHING over the phone with DirecTV......get it in writing!
