TOWN OF KEANSBURG!!!!! Complaint - Living In A Town As Minority Single Woman - Home Owner

Review by Gias39 on 2008-11-13
KEANSBURG, NEW JERSEY -- I had to share my experience with those who may be thinking to purchase a home or move to these area which is call town of Keansburgh is a very small town in NJ.

Two years ago when I purchase my first home in this small town which is located right by the shore of NJ, it just seem like the perfect choice to buy my first home, the price at the time was ok, the taxes seems to be so affordable nice little town. Little did I know that was going to be become my worst decision I could of made in my life.

Soon after I have rented my two family home one end I live and other rented to these people who will make my life impossible for which the town of Keansbug will take their side, which at first I understood but then when I show proof that these tenants from hell, were dead beats, the city still took their side. All the sudden all the proof of the world did not make a difference, so I started seem something I was the only one different in these situation. I was a single minority woman who own a property in a town that obviously minorities were truly minorities, I realized there would be nothing that I could do at these point all the sudden been in a sense harass by town of Keansburg.

So if you are minority unfortunately enough I would say these is the town you definitely want to avoid to live in unless you want to live in a nightmare. I hope that my story will help others not to make the same mistake I have made.

so what are the issues?
Posted by jktshff1 on 2008-11-13:
mad, my thoughts as I was reading between the lines,it would probably have to do with an eviction and proper notice not being given.
Let's hope she comes back to explain.

What are your issues? I've got friends in Keansburgh. Nice place.

Did you give proper notice of eviction? Were you trying to evict them?

Come back and give us some details so we can help you.

What did this have to do with race?

I used to detest going into Keansburg.. for a shore town I thought it was a run-down dump of a place with rickety cottages and a bums running the streets..That was 25 years ago so I wonder if it hasn't changed that much...

Sounds like Saginaw, OF. LMAO!
Posted by D on 2008-11-13:
C2O... you got that right!
The only difference between Saginaw and Keansburg is that we don't have a beach.. at least one that isn't littered with used condoms that wash ashore when New York City dumps it's garbage at sea and the tide brings it back to the beach...

Are you sure those aren't jellyfish? LOL!
Posted by D on 2008-11-13:
Nope... did you ever try to slip a jelly-fish on your pecker.. they were definitely condoms..

Sounds like the tenants were not paying the rent as well...being called "Deadbeats". So, I don't know why, as a home owner, the law can not help the owner. Even it they didn't give a notice of eviction, the court would have told the owner the laws. But from what the owner seems to be saying is that because she is a minority, the town is agaisnt her. I've lived in small towns and I know how most of them are, so this is no surprise to me. But, I do think there is more detail that needs to be explained.

And they were USED! You shouldn't have been putting them on!!
Posted by D. on 2008-11-13:
Old F! You were using USED ones washed up from the beach? Don't try to get out of that one, YOU Said it!
Posted by D on 2008-11-13:
I didn't put them on... I used them like water balloons...
Posted by D. on 2008-11-13:
We don't need to know anymore, thank you ....

I always wondered why New York condoms were so buoyant..
Most of the other garbage sank at sea...

Didn't you go to Health class in school?
Those condoms have swimmers in them!

Now... TAKE IT OFF!!

Of nothing's changed in Keansburgh. It's still the same. We've got friends that live there. It's been taken over by trash. Really sad too. Starting to turn into a little ghetto town.

Princi... it was a ghetto town 25 years ago...

There are 2 sides to every story, but I haven't even heard one side to this story. Alot more information is needed here.

I cannot believe the ignorance of everyone bad mouthing Keansburg. I grew up in this town, and have lived in many other places. I now live in Keansburg and I am raising my family here. There are many good people here and yes there are scum but there is scum everywhere! Look in your own backyard before fingerpointing. Many so called upscale neighborhoods have issues that are similar but are dealt with behind closed doors. I still see that although you are bad mouthing this town you are still visiting our beaches and putting used condoms on yourself. Wow that's scary! My children have excelled in this school system with many dedicated teachers that have been teaching some over 20 years. I do not see any other area with such dedication! Both my husband and I are working successful people and chose to live here...

Listen firecracker, I'm born in raised in NJ. I know what I am talking about. NJ is a glorified dump. It's expensive, crowded, and don't forget violent. Soon as I was old enough I got the heck out. And I don't regret it for one second.

Now tell me, do you leave your doors unlocked at night? Do you leave your wallet, cell phone, GPS in your unlocked car?

The school system is a freakin joke. Over crowded classrooms, old books, no funding for programs. That's a good education system? Really? How does 38 kids to one teacher and sharing textbooks work out to a good education?

I haven't visited your trashy disgusting beaches in close to 10 years, if I wanted me and the kids to swim in toxic waste, I'd go swim in a sewer.

So do me a favor before you go insulting all of us for not being as good as you, look in the mirror. I highly doubt that the friends and relatives I have living in Dump Jersey are lying to me.

Wow, 38 students in one classroom. The child and the babys mama must be taking classes together.

Princi... Keansburg was dump of a town but I do miss the Jersey shore and the proximity to "THE CITY"...I would kill to be able to jump on the train in Toms River and 45 minutes later be at the center of all known civilization... I really miss that!
Posted by jktshff1 on 2008-12-17:
Must be bad to get Princi fired up like that LOL!!!
