Time Out Elk River Informative - Bacteria Runs Ramped

ELK RIVER, MINNESOTA -- If you enjoy being sick, eat at Time Out. I can say this because I worked there for a very short period of time, couldn't bring myself to service people under these conditions and quit. They have plumbing problems, so at times, there is no hot water, even in the customer restrooms How do you sanitize dishes that others have had their germ infested mouths on with no hot water? You don't, you wash them in cold water and reset the table with greasy silverware because the managers have instructed you to do so. The owners are so cheap, they won't throw out rotten food because it will raise food costs. I grabbed a jug of ranch from the walk in that I thought was bleu cheese because there was mold in it, so I walked it to the trash and was shocked when the manager said, "don't you throw that away, unless you want to pay for it" The managers are dipping chips in the ranch on the salad line and eating over other peoples orders, how gross!!

I have even seen employees go out back for a smoke, then walk right passed the sink and not wash their hands. I don't know about you, but I don't like being sick and you will get more than a meal from this place.

if you suspect this is a real issue, contact the local health department.

So when you informed the health department, what did their investigation come up with? I mean you did inform the health department right?

Sorry, hit the wrong button. lol. I actually have reported them, unfortunately, I have a little experience in the restaurant business since I have been doing this 12 years or better, and believe me they are not the only offenders of this kind of blatent disregard to others wellness. I reported a restaurant that wanted me to serve rotten top sirloin to KIDS on the kids menu. The Health Department, as grea as they are about trying to catch a prevent the problem, can only do so much, and the sad part is that employees are difficlt to monitor. If you read some of these posts you will understand why I have a hard time trusting what is in my food, especially if you complain and send it back.

I wish the agencies intended to protect the public, would actually do just that. If they know these things are happening and could make people sick, why not do something about it.
