Johnson And Johnson Informative - Children's Medicine Under Recall

 Infants' MyliconThe maker of a children's medicine has issued a voluntary recall.

The public has been advised to stop using units of Infants' Mylicon gas relief dye-free drops.

Johnson and Johnson and the Food and Drug Administration have recalled 12,000 units because some bottles could have metal fragments.

Company officials said the fragments were generated during the manufacturing process.

Consumers can contact the company for a replacement or refund by calling 800-222-9435 or visiting the Mylicon Web site for more details.

FORT WASHINGTON, PA (WPRI) - Johnson & Johnson and Merck Consumer Pharmaceuticals are recalling Infants' Mylicon Gas Relief Dye Free Drops, Non-Staining Drops due to possible metal fragments.

The recall affects drops sold in 1 oz. plastic bottles that were distributed after October 5, 2008 nationwide.

The two lots of Infants' MYLICON® GAS RELIEF DYE FREE drops non-staining 1 oz. bottles included in the recall are:

Product: Infants' Mylicon® Gas Relief Dye Free Non-Staining Drops 1 oz.

Consumers can find the lot numbers on the bottom of the box containing the product and also on the lower left side of the sticker on the product bottle.

Consumers who purchased Infants' MYLICON® GAS RELIEF DYE FREE drops non-staining included in this recall should immediately stop using the product and contact the company at 1-800-222-9435 (Monday ? Friday, 8:00 a.m. ? 8:00 p.m. EST) or via the internet at >www.mylicon.com for instructions regarding how to dispose of the product and request a replacement or refund.

Although the company said the potential for serious medical events is low, it is implementing this recall to as a precaution.

Parents who have already given their child the affected drops and are concerned should contact their health care provider immediately.

jk my oldest had the worst colic, it's safer to just pat him on the pack and let him cry it out. Otherwise I would have given him those drops every day! All colic is is gas pains, what do you do when you have gas pains, that's right ya FART!!

As soon as I posted it...the picture was right there (I thought it would take some time), and there was your comment...I guess 15 people all posted a review at the same time and bumped me off the main page before it even got there...Oh well...I think it's really BiPolar...she just doesn't like the Basher :(

Seriously...I did think this info would be important enough to get posted on the front page for at least a short time.

Oh well...maybe Admin will include the info in their Recall Emails they send out. We have some new parent's on M3C and I thought it was something they should know about.

Well yea, there's metal in baby medicine. That's scary as heck and something that shouldn't be taken lightly at all. I hope Skye sees this. And Sparticus too!!

That little girl is a baby doll! She's got the cutest little face!! That little mouse costume is just too much. Little cutie patutie!

Not surprised to hear about J & J. I complained to them twice via email, about their astringent products that left a 2 week rash on my face. All they could do was suggest I call, but gave me a number I couldn't use.
