Alienware Complaint - Don't Purchase, Save Yourself Some Major Headaches
MIAMI, FLORIDA -- 07/23/08 I ordered an Alienware area 51 with windows XP SP2 7500R5, however when I received it, it came with SP3 on it, we immediately called them and was told the reformat disk was sp2 and to reformat. Since then they have refused to give any type of constructive support the computer is dead and they are trying to get me to accept windows home vista, they said they will take it back but would not pay shipping and I'd be charged 15% restocking fee on a dead computer.
Shipping alone is $167 after spending $2,000 for this unit that has never worked correctly its bit disheartening to know they do not support there own products and could care less about being fair to their customers..
Save yourself some major headaches and purchase another brand.
Update:: the reason I do not care for sp3 is because I run high end graphics programs, like Vue6, Bryce6, Poser 6 and 7 plus PSP11 all on different drives nothing would work most 3d high end programs will not work with sp3. on my invoice it spectifically says I ordered with sp2 they sent the wrong computer in the first place.. If your in to high end graphics or 3d programs I think you may understand the frustrations alittle better.. Filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau they have 921 complaints filed against Alienware. To bad they won't stand behind their own products. Whoever said for the $467.00 take it to a local tech makes more sense then trying to send it back and not getting credit for it..
