Computers Made Simple Complaint - Overpriced Service/Poor Service

LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK -- We had some basic desktop computer problems ("bugs, " running slow) and called in Computers Made Simple. Instead of fixing the immediate problem, we were convinced to replace the operating system for $600, while being reassured that the computer would have everything installed just like the old system, but we would have virtually a "new" computer.

However, the email system and virtually all our files were missing, and there were lots of reloading programs (like camera, PDA). It took us 3 weeks to get them to come back, and even though we had a "1 year warranty, " we were told that we would have to pay for time again. And while some files were recovered and the email system was restored, most old emails were missing, Ipod program no longer running correctly, all my paid Norton software was missing and we had to re-purchase, speakers don't work, and worst of all, most of my Word file documents are still missing (probably on old hard drive). Two weeks later, the system went dead. Computers Made Simple refused to come out again because he "didn't like working with us. " We called in a neighbor who works in IT and for $50 he got it running again.

At the end of the day, we spent $1,200 basically for a bug free computer that's nominally faster, but my speaker doesn't work, my Ipod is messed up, files and email records are missing. Computers Made Simple is overpriced and doesn't back their work.
