Camptown RV Complaint - To Make A Sale Or Not To Make A Sale?

BROOKLAND, ARKANSAS -- I am a small business owner and we repair all small engines. Boats, tillers, 4wheelers, etc. I made a phone call to Camptown RV and asked if they had a part in stock. They did and I was pleased. Not only would that make my customer happy but I thought I was helping this new small business as well. When I went to make the purchase I had a tax id number because this would have been a resale and the owner refused to take the tax id number I asked to just purchase the part then the owner refused to sale me the part claiming that I was taking business from them. Since when does the consumer not have the rite to choose who services their equipment? I am sure that this Camptown RV place has the rite to make a sale but on what terms? Is that really ethical business or is that selfishness?

We work on anybody's equipment and buy parts from servicing dealers all the time and no refusals. This business lost a sale of $25.25 and then seeing how word of mouth is your best or worst advertisement they have really made an unethical business decision by not making the sale.
