Jim Burke Nissan, Birmingham, AL Complaint - The Worst Car Dealer In The Whole Of Alabama

Review by saurabh03 on 2008-11-20
BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA -- Horrible experience when trying to close a deal on a new 09 Altima. Least friendly salesperson and extremely rude and impolite. I had asked for a good price so that I won't have to bargain much and he was fixed with the MSRP! WHO WILL BUY AT MSRP? I asked if we can work / negotiate on the price: and the look/glance the sales person gave at me and with his tone of speaking: I did not waste even a single minute more and walked out of the dealership.

I have visited other dealerships and could very well see the difference. When the other dealerships were working hard to earn the business and sell a vehicle in this struggling economy, [snip] sales person was more incline in trying to get rid of its customer. Please please do not go there if you really want to buy a car. The name of the sales person was [snip]. He is UTTERLY PATHETIC.

I had a horrible experience and would NOT recommend anyone further to buy from them. Go to the other dealerships and you will get a better deal and definitely more warmth and better friendly service.

You need to rethink your approach to car buying. This is a battle and you need to approach it as such. You asked "for a good price so that I won't have to bargain much"?

With the internet at your disposal and a little work you can figure out what any dealer paid for any given car. Armed with that figure you bargain from there. You need to control the discussion from the beginning.

And no matter how nice they are, no matter how well they treat you, no matter how friendly everyone is, you are nothing more that a big money pinata to them and their job is to whack at you and shake loose as much money as they can.

People don't want to be seen as cheap, or mean, or disagreeable and they pay thousands of dollars every time they buy a car just so total strangers will like them. I doubt my car dealers like me very much, but I console myself with the extra money in my wallet. Good luck!

i admit that I like the car buying process and I always feel good about the price I pay. That's what matters, right? If you feel good about it, then its a good deal. The interwebz are full of great info - nearly every make/model has a forum where people discuss pricing. Edmunds is another great tool. I've walked out of many a dealership over just a couple hundred dollars - mainly over principle. With all that said, I think car dealers are unethical and unfair and take advantage of the uninformed
