Conn's Appliances Informative - Horrible Repair Man and Crappy Customer Service
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS -- I'd like to advise everyone to make sure you spend the extra on the warranty. We bought a Sony 55" TV and have had a service guy come out 3 times -- the first of which it was only myself home, and the guy told me there was no problem with my TV. There obviously was -- it had a 6" purple line on the top of the screen. He told me it was just certain channels that did that... Yeah, ok, whatever. So when my husband told me to have them bring him back out again (and he would be home), there was magically a huge purple line on the top of the TV!! On every channel!! Like he'd never seen that before....
Anyhow, he ordered the part and came back a week and a half later -- didn't get here until about 4:50pm so he was obviously in a hurry to get done and get home. So, in his rush, he pulled out a wire and now the TV doesn't work at all. So he said he'd overnight the part and fix it on Friday (he came out Wednesday). Well my husband and I have tried calling and getting a loaner TV, and we keep getting transferred to this person and that person. And so I called to see if the part came in, and it hadn't... Like I suspected. Its just ridiculous. These call center people don't give a flying $&@$ about the customers and just want to get you off their &@$ and transfer you to someone else who you have to explain the whole situation to again, and who can't do anything for you anyhow. Anyways, I'm rambling... Essentially, I hate Conns -- and their service people.
By the way, I was saying to get the warranty, because just to replace the projection bulb cost $300 -- and then another $1200 for the LCD panel... Feels like buying the TV over again :)
