Spirit Airlines Complaint - Seat Assignments
BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS -- FYI!! When you purchase seat assignments please be aware that Spirit airlines has a computer glitch. When there are multiple passengers on one reservation and some members of the partie purchase assignments and other do not there may be a problem. There were eight passengers on one reservation, passengers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 did not purchase seat assignments. Passengers 7 and 8 did purchase seat assignments, 9E and 9F round trip. The day before the flight, when the seats were assigned by the computer, the computer assigned seats for passengers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 in the back of the plane. The computer system continued to assign seats for passengers 7 and 8 along with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 in the back of the plane, disregarding the fact that seat assignments had been purchased by passengers 7 and 8. At the airport they could not move us to our seats we had purchased as they had already been assigned to someone else so we ended up in the middle of the plane, with seats that were not even in the same row.
The same problem happened on the way home. My recommendation is to not purchase seat assignments if multiple passengers are on the same reservation. I have no idea if those with less than 8 even work at all. Don’t waste your money, even though they recommend that you do. Trust me save yourself the aggravation of being aggravated don’t fly Spirit airlines.
