Avis Complaint - Fraudulent Charges

Review by pzzdoff on 2008-11-21
FT. LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA -- I rented from Avis in Ft. Lauderdale. First, they gave me a car with less than half a tank and later charged me at $6.99/gal. for a full tank.

Then, about a month after I had returned the car, they charged me for unspecified "damage" to the car. The manager failed to produce photos that he said were his proof.

AVOID AVIS!!! BEWARE OF FRAUDULENT CHARGES!

Dispute the damage charges with your credit card company. If they did not note damage at the time you checked in, they cannot hold you responsible. They can never prove that it didn't happen with one of their own workers parking the rental.

Actually, they can charge you. if the car is damaged, and there was no damage when the car left the lot (DUH of course you have to note any damage to the car!) Go ahead and dispute the charge....avis will produce a LEGALLY BINDING

as this post is old, i am sure the original complaint has seen that this is the way it happened.
