General Motors Compliment - Loved That Old Truck!
You read a lot of complaints on this and many other sites. But, rarely a good comment. I just wanted to give my "3 cents" :)
I just traded in a 2000 Chevy Silverado pickup that I drove for 9 years. That truck was the best vehicle I ever owned. I traded because I wanted to change my style of transportation. I now own a new Chevy Traverse. But I was very sad to have to get rid of the Silverado because it had been such a good vehicle. I needed the trade in value to afford the new SUV though. One thing most folks don't consider too, that if an American car has problems, they are usually much easier to fix than a foreign car. I know because my Sister's 2000 Toyota Camry is always breaking down, and fixing it is a pain! Only repair I needed to do to my Silverado was to fix the tailgate latch last year. Cost me $1.00 in parts and about 3 minutes of my time. I did do a few "tweaks" to the truck over the years too, audio amp, different engine parts and shocks. All of which I installed myself. That truck was so easy to work on it was silly. I shudder anytime my Sister calls me to work on her Toyota, it's not fun.
Anyway, I'm 100% satisfied with the history of my Chevy's and look forward to many good years in the new Traverse.
