Toys R Us Complaint - Beware Of Free Merchandise Offers
Toys R Us.com was offering a free bake wear set with the purchase of an easy bake oven. When you click on the "details" of this free item, there were no instructions on how to get this free set, only the phrase, "free item will be added to your cart." To me this means THEY take care of making sure it is in your cart. If you check other free items offered on their website, the same wording is used. Low and behold, I did not get the free set. When I called, the cust svc representative told me that I was supposed to "add" the item to my cart to get it for free and that it was my fault I didn't get it and that I should have clicked on the "details" to learn of that. I told him I did click on it and it did not say that I had to add the item to the cart! Then he said that the item is out of stock now and that was probably the reason I didn't get it too and that the site said "while supplies last." I was very upset with his responses and asked for a supervisor. She pretty much told me the same thing, but also said that she was applying a $15 credit to my order number and that I had to watch the website when the item is in stock and to call them!!
What a headache to have to do that!! Just make sure you add the free items to you cart with them, even though they don't advertise it.
