ZT Systems Complaint - Resolving Problems Is An Issue

Review by WiseConsumer on 2008-11-29
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA -- While it would appear that these specially configured computers are a good idea, after the purchase, resolving a problem is a big issue. The laptop comes with a 6-cell battery that only lasts 2.0 - 2.5 hours. (Other laptops come with a 9-cell battery that lasts 4 hours.) The store where it was ordered has not been able to get a 9-cell replacement when it was purchased a month ago.

In addition, the laptop is better for home entertainment use only. A fast typist will be at a disadvantage because the SHIFT key is a regular size key (not the larger size key found on other laptops and desktops). Each time I got to hit the SHIFT key, I inadvertently hit the UP/DOWN/SIDE ARROW keys because they are in the space normally designated for the right SHIFT key. The cursor then goes all over the place inserting subsequent keystrokes into prior typed lines of text, or inadvertently SELECTING and DELETING PRIOR TYPED TEXT because the CTRL key is also not in the normal location. Typing a document or just a simple email is laborious.

The keyboard is for someone who types one letter at a time with one finger at a time but definitely not for a fast typist.

use a regular sized keyboard, they simply will plug into any usb port.
