GMAC Motorcycle Insurance Complaint - Cancellation Fees
SNOWING OUTSIDE RIGHT NOW -- I called to cancel our policy and was told I would receive a refund check in a couple weeks. So, I called this week to see where my check was as it has been 4-6 weeks. I found out we are not getting a refund but instead paying! After speaking to two people, I found out that since we are cancelling in the middle of our one year policy term, there is a cancellation fee. So, round and round we go with the service representative who said the cancellation fee is on every motorcycle policy if you do not fulfill the 12 month term, even if you sell the bike! I save everything regarding policies etc stemming back from the first day we insured this bike with them a couple of years ago. While having the representative on the phone, I pulled every piece of paper out of each packet they sent to us and guess what, I don't have a copy of it.
She said they don't give copies of this in the packet of info they send to Customers as they have it on record but they can send me a copy of it now. How deceptive. Do I have any recourse not to pay this cancellation fee?
