Wal-Mart Informative - $1 Material Going Up 50 Cents
VICKSBURG, MISSISSIPPI -- I know how frustrating it can be to many of us who sew, when we as consumers come into Walmart or Walley World to many normally not leaving with less then spending $100.00 plus, we want something to show for it. Many women shop Walmart especially in the sewing and craft area alone. This area receives much business especially in many of the small towns of the state. Many times they do not have other sources for purchasing material. Many consumers would and do travels a great distances, the $1.00 racks were very much something myself looked forward to each week with new materials coming in. Society is hurting, everything we purchase has went up in price; the penny here and there mounds up to find many of us not purchasing the things we did prior, and industries wonder why their sales have dropped. All you have to do is look at Black Friday; then look at your Saturday sales, and ask yourselves why were these sale better. Friday vs. Saturday as a person who managed for over 20 years marketing strategies have really went down which has also caused sales to fall and markets to drop. Many of the businesses fail to see you can only stretch a dollar bill so far and expect to supply the goods needed. Society is slowing showing they are tired and refuse not to get a good deal as well as refusing to spend money on luxury items. Society is far from being stupid, the manufacturing of many goods are marked up 200 to 400% this is wrong and Washington wonders why we are in this predicament we have place ourselves in this.
Please give us back this small token for the women of the world it does not hurt the business but it does bring more money in, in the long run. Remember sales work but they must be laid out correctly to be pleasing to ones eye.
