Orida Complaint - Changed Product And Moved It Into A Higher Price Point That I Won't Buy

Review by classof78 on 2008-12-03
CINCINNATI, OHIO -- I really enjoyed your original Ore-ida frozen mashed potatoes. Originally your product competed with the Kroger branded frozen mashed potatoes. I assume a decision was made that Ore-ida would be the only product offering this product. I found it to be authentic, economical and easy substitute for homemade for a price around $2.19. I must say that I am VERY DISAPPOINTED to find this product no longer offered and now you offered a steam and mash potato that is offered at $3.99. The price difference is to great to even tempt me. I won't even try it.

Please bring back the original frozen mashed potatoes.

Thank you.

Mash up your own taters, it's much cheaper.

Or you can try a box of instant potatoes. My mother-in-law uses them all the time.

I think that the instant taters are getting to be pretty decent.

I agree, the original mashed potato was as close to real as I've ever had. Price has nothing to do with it as far as I'm concerned, I enjoy the convenience and the taste. Boxed are awful, and real, though obviously the best is not always convenient. The new steamed version do not compare. In fact, I will not be buying any Orida products until they bring the original mashed back. This may seem like small potatoes (sorry) however I have a very large family who loves all the other Orida potato products.

Orida, Bring em back

Don't you OHIOANS have more pressing issues than a lousy spud dish that Ore-Ida had to offer? The instant potato varieties are probably better than what they had to offer anyway assuming that you know your way around the kitchen.
Bon apettit'.

Even 10# bags of potatoes have gone up a lot here lately. They used to be around 2 bucks, now its almost double that.
