A&P Auto Specialties Complaint - Does Not Follow Through On Anything They Do
INDEPENDENCE, MINNESOTA -- I purchased a 1998 Audi A4 Quattro 2.8L with 128xxx miles on it in June 2008. After getting a verbal 'guarantee' from the car dealer, which obviously doesn't mean anything now, that the car is 100% mechanically sound only 4,000 miles later my torque converter is shot and the dealer is not going to cover the cost. When I originally spoke with the owner he forwarded me to his Lead Technician who after having the problem described to him he said to drive the car harder and the problem will go away. His solution now that the torque converter needs to be replaced is to put in a used, not rebuilt, converter with labor for approx $1600 and split the cost with me.
I explained to him that this is not an option as I was guaranteed a mechanically sound car from a shop that is trying to make a name for itself as a premier Audi service facility.
Don't even bother with this place as they do not follow through on a single thing they do. Also, it took me over 6 months to get my title and plates that the dealer kept attributing this to the state being behind. All the while my file was incorrectly placed on a 'transferred' pile and the dealer obviously does not follow through, again.
