ILLINOIS -- Recently my windows XP crashed. I contacted Dell tech to see what could be done. The tech I talked to said I would need to purchase to OS disk since my system came with it installed and mine was out of warranty. The cost was $212.49. When I received it I tried to install it. It did not help. They had sent the wrong os. I contacted dell tech again. They did get my system working but I had to wipe out my system. I was then told I could return the wrong disk with a full refund even though it was opened. I waited over two months for my refund and the contacted customer service to check on refund. They said since it had been opened no refund. This goes against their own policy which states only a 15% restocking fee on opened software unless it is their mistake. This WAS their mistake for telling me I need to buy the disk when they sent me the correct one for free and also for sending the wrong one.
I have since turned them into our states Attorney Generals office waiting for an answer from them.
