Wal-Mart Complaint - The Outrageous Cost
In Canada, the WalMart prepaid Calling Card showing a 2.1 cent per minute minimum cost has other costs you would not expect. Besides various surcharges applying to calls to/from certain northern areas, each call is subject to a minimum cost that for a $10 card equals about 20 calls in total. The card states:"A minimum charge of 49'cent'/call applies." So, the perception given on the front of the card is that you will receive about 400 minutes in long-distance time. Yes, that's true if you make one call only. If you catch an answering service on each of your 20 calls you could use the entire $10 card on a very few seconds of long distance time.
The card indicates: "Services provided by Bell Canada." What more needs to be said.
