Comcast Corporation Complaint - Tech support is practically non-existent!
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA -- I had excellent cable modem service when it was owned by ATT. From the first day Comcast took over, I began to have problems...
But the problem which led me to this complaint is that their email was continually unreliable to certain ISP's.
My sister has iquest.net as an ISP. I kept getting emails I sent her returned to me, "undeliverable". Of course I called Comcast tech support right away, and of course they did nothing to resolve the problem.
I kept trying, convinced that eventually I could find SOMEOne there to understand and solve the problem. I began getting 80% of my emails to my sister returned to me undeliverable, yet all my other emails were going through, both for her, and for me. Before Comcast came in, I NEVER had this problem, so it was clearly a COmcast related problem.
I finally got ahold of a guy at Iquest.net and he said this: "Yes, there is a known problem with the way Comcast interacts with our email system. They are aware of it, and we continually have asked that they work on this with us, but they refuse."
I told a top tech guy at Comcast this, and even gave him the guy's address at Iquest. 3 days later, Comcast says, "Your problem is fixed."
But it WASN'T! It was exactly the same as before. I called Comcast and they said, "Well, as far as we're concerned, it's FIXED!!!" (????!!!!) I said, But it ISN'T fixed! I am still getting nearly all my emails returned that I sent do my sister at iquest.net!
They basically told me they could not or would not fix it.
What bugs me more than anything is that they do not have ANY higher authority to complain to, like their Cable TV does. With Cable tv you can complain to the City they are in and the City will back you up and get on their case! But with Cable Modem service, there is no one to go to!
Tech support at Comcast is horrible, and Customer service is non-existent!
DO NOT Sign on with Comcast Cable Modem service. It may work great at first, but at some point you'll need tech support, and they won't help you!
