Transport Honda Complaint - Feeling Screwed Over
FORT ST. JOHN, CALIFORNIA -- I own a darling red Honda element. When I bought it I was also sold what was supposed to be a great deal"Honda for Life" it was to give me oil changes at great discount prices. HaHa. Right after my purchase they increased their shop rates. No deal there. Then they had me coming in far too soon. So I was paying for unneeded oil changes. Well when I took my element in this time for a scheduled oil change I asked them to check a burnt out light in my stick shift. They did that with no problem and charged me 1hour shop rate to change the bulb. When they did this they broke another bulb so I had no other dash lights. They booked an appointment and said there would be no charge. As it was their fault. I took the vehicle in. They had it for 8 hours[to change a bulb]. When I went to pick it up they said that they would call me when the bulb came in and replace it. I was told the reason I was charged so much the first time was because it takes an hour to get into the dash to change a bulb. When I asked why would they make it so difficult to change a bulb. I was told these bulbs are special bulbs that aren't supposed to blow?????
A month passed. I called to see what was taking so long to get the bulb in. They then tell me that they have them in stock and that they will make me an appointment to get my vehicle in there. Today I take my vehicle in first thing. I go back at noon and they try to present me with a bill. Now saying that it was only coincidence that the other bulb blew when they were in the dash. But the bulb is not supposed to blow and they said it wouldn't be a charge to me????? Now they are saying they said no such thing???? In frustration I told them I can't deal with you right now and left with my vehicle. I was so frustrated. This is the straw that broke the camels back. My husband[who is a bit of a hot head and hates to see me upset] went into the dealership to try and get this straightened out.
He was told they didn't want to hear it. Things got heated and he yelled. Tonight we have had a call from the police. The dealership has lied saying they have cut the shop bill, but surprisingly they want me to now pay $195 to change a bulb. I don't know how they can stay in business with service like that. They have completly soured the experience of owning a Honda element. I will never go back there. I will drive to the next closest dealer which is about 2 hours from here.
Unfortunately the "Honda for life" is only good at this dealership.
