Sears Complaint - Nightmare!!! Do Not Get Repair/Warranty From Sears
HOUSTON, TEXAS -- I bought a Craftsman blower about 2years ago and as usual you are always offer an extended warranty... so I got it.. I like to do my lawn occasionally so I have all the tools to do it. About 1month ago the Blower stopped working I called Sears to check on the warranty and they told me that it was good but it was about to expired and they offered to extended so I agreed.. I then asked the representative what was covered and what was not covered; she reply "every thing is covered except for extendable parts, if any thing goes wrong, just take it to Sears Repair center so they can fix it".. it sounded really good so I went ahead and took it to them; a week and a half later they called me that it was ready I went to pick it up and there is a bill for $82.**. the manager in charge told me that he didn't know why they were charging me if all of the parts were covered, he told me he was going to call them and call me back to let me know. He never did.
I went back and he wasn't there, I left a message and the next day he called me to give me a phone# to call, because it had a broken piston/cylinder and it was not covered. before I called that # I called the Warranty Dept and told them that my Blower was messing up and I needed to know what was covered and what wasn't. told me the same thing as the first representative when I renewed the service agreement. I called same dept 3more times and no one was able to give me information on what was not covered.
Finally I called the # the manager from the store had given me and they told me the blower was not covered because apparently it had been my fault. that sometimes when you leave gas on the machine for a while the gas goes bad and causes damage. I felt really upset because it feels like they are stilling peoples money and that's not right. I would never buy from Sears again and I will tell my story to as many people as I can.
That's how upset/disappointed I am.
