Super Buffet Compliment - Good Food At Good Prices

Review by Starlord on 2008-12-20
LACEY, WASHINGTON -- We ate at the new Super Buffet today after a shopping trip at WalMart*, and were pleasantly surprised. On entering the restaurant, there is a beautiful fountain in the what I would have to call a lobby. We were shown to our table and the waitress asked what we wished to drink, and said to help ourselves. There were eight steam tables arranged in the serving area in four groups of two, with two more crosswise at the end. The selection of foods was mind-boggling, from sauteed octopus to General Tso's chicken, from sushi to chicken on a stick, and roasted ham to crawfish. The food was delicious and well prepared, and the hot tea was strong enough to suit me.

Usually, the tea looks like slightly colored water and tastes like it too. They charge $9 for lunch, which is comparable to other Chinese buffets in the area, and has a larger selection. A gastatorial delight.

We have a Supper Buffet in my area. I wonder if they're a chain? The only complaint I have about the one here is the hot food isn't really hot. Of course, I'm one who wants hot foot HOT, and cold food COLD. No in between, but that's just me...

Thought it was great that none of the staff there seemed to care about us taking the dogs in...the one waitress stood off to the side and watched Munchkin while Star went and got his food, she just stood at the edge of the booth watching for him to come back to the table. I did have their ID handy in case they asked though. And poor bear was in lala land with his pain pill....he just laid on my coat and slept! (He's not working right now, but he still goes with us...vet doesn't want him left alone.)

The food there was great, and the fish was so hot I had to let it cool a bit before I could eat it. They have the most delicious breaded white fish there!
