Thomasville Flooring Complaint - Poor Quality Flooring Can't Hold Up To Normal Wear - Walnut Engineered Hardwood Flooring

Walnut Engineered Hardwood Flooring - Complaint
Review by DDEll on 2008-12-21
GREENVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA -- We installed 1200 sq ft of Walnut Thomasville engineered hardwood flooring a year ago and it has been a thorn in our side ever since. The Walnut finish is beautiful, but will not stay clean. We don’t even have any children. They smear/smudge, footprints and shoeprints show. Bona Hardwood Floor spray cleaner (recommended by Thomasville) seems to work best, but still requires cleaning twice a week or more.

We trusted Thomasville's reputation for quality products, but are greatly disappointed. We have no choice but to tolerate and do back-braking cleaning, until we can afford to do something else.

I find it funny that Thomasville floors recommends using Bona cleaner, when they make their own cleaner. I shouldn't be surprised, though, because I used their cleaner for the first time on my wood floors and it left a waxy feeling residue (leaves no residue it says) and I had to go back over it a couple of times to get rid of it, with my BONA cleaner. Horrible product.

We had Thomasville Jatoba installed 2 years ago. I hate it. Looks beautiful when it is clean but that isn't long. Constantly needs mopping. I also have large gaps between planks. Thomasville and Home Depot sent an inspector and of course they blamed the installer. I hired him privately. He came back and redid the entire lower floor where this was installed. Gaps reoccured. needless to say I won't have it installed in upstairs rooms which was the plan. This product should never be sold where hot and cold weather are the alternating climate.
I have noticed this product was removed from my local Home Depot. Interesting.
