Penske Truck Rentals Complaint - Road Maintenance & Service

Review by "trucker" on 2008-12-21
SALINA, KANSAS -- It was 9:30 pm, Dec. 18, 2008. This person received a phone call, requesting a "crew" to transfer a load from one truck to another. After a few phone calls, I put together the "crew". Four men who would work through the NIGHT to get the job done. The location of the "transfer" point was given. Weather conditions were horrible. Slick ice and snow, temperatures hovering around 5-above. After 4.0 hours the job was completed. No electricity, no lights, no hot coffee available. Work in the dark, under averse conditions. Friday - I called Penske about the charges and was informed "they would not pay what for what we had done". They gave me a figure - which was regular hours, regular work. NO overtime for NIGHT work.

My complaint: do not work for this outfit if you are going to get screwed. NOT worth it. I was on duty 24/7 to help assist with such emergencies. But, no more!
