Target Complaint - Online Policy
It has been a week and I still have no resolution to my problem. I ordered some games for my children for this Christmas. I wasn't able to find all the items at the store. So, I go online and within 15 minutes click all the items I want and proceed to checkout. I type in everything to complete the transaction. And within an hour I receive confirmation back in my e-mail that the order has been processed. A day goes by and I receive an e-mail that 1 of my items is already being shipped.(Hooray!) Each day I get a notification of another new shipment. Well I think nothing of it, because it says that they will TRY to combine shipping. So I go on with my life. About 2 days after the transaction, I go to withdraw some money from an ATM and find out I overdrawn. (oops) It's Christmas, that happens. Well I come to discover that I'm way overdrawn. As I research the reason, I come to find out that Target has charged my debit card 4 different times, which equaled the total combined purchase. I was furious, as you can imagine, and called Customer Service immediately. They were very nice, but were only able to direct me to an e-mail that I would receive to "help" me with this problem. I did what the e-mail asked and received what I'm sure is a form letter stating that the overdraft fees (3 in total) were my fault. I replied via e-mail and got another reply from Customer Service and another e-mail telling me to send information that would "help" resolve this problem.
A few more e-mails and the same old song and dance. I included my phone number several times so that they could contact me directly, but it seems that no one would talk one to one. So, today I called Customer Service again. After a 30 minute phone call nothing is resolved. I am simply asking for 2 of the 3 overdrafts charges to be refunded to me because they charged me 4 different times. I acknowledge that if they had charged me once for the total amount, I would have incurred 1 overdraft fee. But NO WHERE does it say online does it say that they will process payments as the items are shipped!!
I will never shop Target again online or in the store!!! They have ruined their own reputation by not having clear online payment policies.
