Ashley Furniture Informative - Very Rude Manager And Bad Customer Service
ELKRIDGE, MARYLAND -- My husband and I bought a dresser from Ashley Furniture in Elkridge, MD a couple of weeks ago. We chose to pick it up from the store as we thought their standard $120 delivery charge was a little to much for a $270 dresser. Anyway, we repeatedly asked the sales person who was trying to sell us the dresser if it will fit into a mini van and convinced us that the it will. We asked one of our friend, who has a mini van to help us out in picking up the furniture. Well, it looks like the customer service of this store ends the moment the customer signs the final sales receipt. Nobody cared to help us figure out which was our dresser in their warehouse. Then, we realized the dresser was too big for the mini van. Anyway, I looked for the manager to ask for his help but he could care less to help me. Instead of helping, he was so rude and kept saying that it was non of his problem and that if I want to return it, they will charge me a 30% restocking fee. On top of that, they will not refund the remaining balance - they will return it as a form of a store credit. I was so appalled at the manager's rudeness and lack of customer service. They give the false impression of being nice but the moment they have your money, they don't care about any of your problems or issues. Well, I guess why should they care to help when they have covered themselves with the fine prints written on their sales contract, right?
I've dealt with other furniture stores like Jennifer Convertibles and Marlo before but have never experienced such a bad customer service. It it totally not worth for me to buy anything from them and then having to deal with their horrible customer service. I definitely will not be shopping there ever again!!
