Nextel/Sprint Complaint - Ridiculous Billing - Incorrect Billing/Phantom Numbers
FORT MYERS, FLORIDA -- In the last year, we have been billed over $4000 in fraudulent phone usage on phones/numbers we have disconnected as well as numbers we have no connection or knowledge of. Not only is Nextel/Sprint not crediting us for continuing to bill us for these phones/numbers that aren't ours, they refuse to let us close our account and take our used numbers to another phone carrier until we pay for the charges which they not only admit are fraudulent but claimed to have prior knowledge of. More than just a few of their service employees have admitted that it is a known issue with their company that employees in secondary contract locations are stealing numbers and personal information in order to set up these additional phone lines but they won't credit our bill for these charges.
Every month the bill amounts continue to increase and every month we spend hours on the phone trying to get them to remove the charges they have openly admitted are their issue and yet they continue to mount!!!! Shouldn't we be able to sue a company like this for these kinds of fraudulent activities? Who is worse, the criminals that have found a loop hole through their system or the company who allows it to continue to happen and punishes their long standing customers with the burden of hopelessly waiting for them to sort it out. What's worse is we are being held captive in their system...unable to cancel our service until it's resolved but can't resolve it because they are unable to keep it from happening.
I have never been so disappointed in a cell phone company in my life...or any company for that matter.
