US Airways Complaint - Why I will never fly US Airways again.
SEATTLE, WASHINGTON -- The following examples are from a flight from Seattle to Chicago -via Phoenix- in November 2008.
1. Extra charges for everything (1 check-on bag, pop, coffee, an aisle seat) **note: AC gives customers up to 2 'free' checked bags on most flights and many airlines still offer inflight drink service
I mean really, I paid hundreds of dollars for my ticket and I couldn't even get a lousy cup of coffee included?
2. Forcing checked bags (dozens of passengers boarding at the connecting location had their carry on summarily removed and forcibly checked. No exceptions.)
3. Advertising everywhere. (All tray-tables had big ads for Zycam plastered on them. Ugh!)
4. No entertainment at all. I mean really, the cost cutting measures taken by this airline seem absurd. There are ZERO entertainment options on flights within the continental US. Forget the fact that I had to endure 2 3+hr flights due to the stopover. We couldn't even have a few radio stations or a third run movie? (*On similar routes, most other airlines show movies and television shows and have inflight radio.)
You get what you pay for obviously.. and flying US Airways was the equivalent of riding a city bus in rush hour for more than 6 hours. Maybe some people prefer that..but really, a couple of gestures of customer appreciation would go a long way here. I hope someone will rescue this airline from the downward spiral it seems to be in at the moment. In my opinion, the accountants and management team responsible for these cutbacks and cost-cutting measures should have to fly from NYC to LA on US Airways to get a taste for what they've decided to dish out to their customers.
