Target Complaint - No Price Reductions, Wrong Item Shipped
I ordered a rug for my nursery that I have been preparing over the last month or so. I have spent HOURS online looking for the best prices, safest items, etc, etc.
I finally settled on a rug that received mostly positive comments from users and placed my order for the rug and the changing pad.
I received the changing pad first - or so I thought but when I opened it I found a flameless candle.
I went online to jumpstart the return process and found that the rug that I had ordered less than a week ago was $24 dollars cheaper than the price I paid. I called to speak to a representative to complete the return process of the candle and to ask about receiving a price adjustment for the rug because I was within the 14 days of the original purchase.
The representative would NOT honor the reduction because he said it is on "Clearance" not on "Sale".
They cannot be serious - I do not care what they call it - it is $24 dollars less than what I paid and I am being penalized? I have to go through the pain of returning an item I didn't even order but they get to keep all my money? They offered to overnight the rug pad so I"ll get it in two days instead of 3-5 days...but whatever that is their fault not mine.
The rug is not sold in stores, otherwise I would go return the item in person and buy the cheaper one - but if I do it online - I incur the hassle of having to return an 5x8 rug, then purchase a new one and re-pay shipping costs etc.
I am EXTREMELY disappointed and plan to tell everyone I know. I am thinking of switching registries to Babies R Us instead of using Target...they sell more items anyway and I am not sure If I want to give them anymore of my, or my friends business.
Is $24 dollars worth them losing hundreds or thousands of dollars in this economy....I guess we will see.
