Toys R Us Complaint - Terrible Customer Service!
I ordered a few gifts for my 5 year old nephew last night (12/22) around 12 midnight. I spent an extra $30 for overnight shipping to get it to him for Christmas. I live in Boston, and he lives in Washington State.
I log on this morning at 9 am and I see the confirmation. I scan through to make sure everything was available and realized that they had completely disregarded the WA shipping address and had shipped it to my billing address in Boston.
Of course Toys R Us has no on-line help service (what is this, 1990?) so I have to call a 1-800 number that tries to force you into an automated service. I had to call back and wait on the line for a live person. After being transferred twice, I finally spoke to someone that could help me (or so I thought).
APPARENTLY at 9 am, less than 9 hours after my order was placed, there was nothing they could do to change the order... Imagine that. He wouldn't even cancel it for me and even sat there and argued that I had written the wrong address when I checked out. After going back and forth, I hung up.
So here it is, two days before Christmas and my 5 year old nephew will NOT be opening presents with his brothers and sister, because Toys R Us refused to change a label on a package before it shopped. I am so beyond pissed. And you can't even lodge a complaint with them because their website is so outdated that there is nothing more than a phone number.
Merry effing Christmas.
