Burien Toyota Complaint - Poor Customer service
BURIEN, WASHINGTON -- I brought in my 2005 Prius a while back for routine 30,000 check up. Once the car was in their care, Burien Toyota contacted me several times to say there was more work that needed to be done, even though I didn't feel there was anything wrong with the car before it went in the shop. After over $1000 in repair and maintenance work, I left with my car but it seemed to be running rough the entire drive home. My husband agreed, and called the shop the next day.
Come to find out the tech had put the wrong fluid in the transmission and destroyed the it completely. Rather than remedy this and cover all costs, they still attempted to charge me for the parts damaged by their technician! ALthough I ended up not paying for the damage, I still was without a vehicle for over 2 weeks (they don't have loaners) and inconvenienced with the multiple trips to the dealership and poor customer service. The manager was arrogant and reprimanded an employee in front of several customers at one point.
I will never recommend Burien Toyota for Prius maintenance or anything else. I also reported them to the BBB because I don't think their technicians are even qualified to work on the hybrid cars...someone should verify that they actually have licensed mechanics working there, since no one I talked to seemed to understand the alleged "problems" with the car, particularly anything related to the hybrid engine. Then there's the problem of putting oil in my transmission, which doesn't seem to be the kind of mistake that a qualified technician would make. The whole reason people go to the dealership for maintenance is so that they get the best and most qualified techs. Instead, I got the worst service and quality of repairs I've ever had at an auto repair location.
