Sears Complaint - High Pressure Tactics
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA -- Sears representative came to give estimate. First thing he said was that he was not going to pressure us. He gave a very slick presentation before giving us the estimate. Pointing out how great his product and services were as opposed to the competition. The long delay in presenting the numbers gave us the feeling that the estimate would be very high. We were not disappointed. The numbers were $8k higher than the next highest bid. Still he make a good case for quality. Then came the deal breaker. A $2K discount if we signed up on the spot and if we didn't that would be lost forever. After our insistence that we would not make a rash, spur of the moment decision, he took his pen and Xed out the estimate.
He said that no one ever calls Sears back. Basically told us up front that he's a ripoff.
Guess he did us a favor, except for the wasted 2 hours.
