The Home Depot Informative - Spoken before thought.
Although many complaints have legitimate reasoning it seems most are based on a single experience. Try being the owner of a home improvement business, even a small one and you will realize that the average consumer will have mostly normal intarctions with your business but one bad experience and your associates are labeled as idiots. Just because one person in a store does not meet your expectations does not mean the whole business is a loss. Millions of people shop at The Home Depot and are able to get in and out with what they need in a normal amount of time. To base a claim off of one experience is ludicrous, not to mention short-sighted and retarded. Put yourself in the shoes of someone who has to make decisions on how many people to employ or have working on any specific day and you will see that there could never be enough help to satisfy everyone. People come in to The Home Depot with terrible attitudes and look for trouble. All businesses are run by humans and humans will make mistakes until the end of time. GET OVER IT! The Home Depot relies on other companies and if those companies fail than it is HD that takes the blame and many times the financial hit. 20 years ago HD was barely around so be grateful this wonderful resource is even here. Some people act so entitled to what HD offers without giving thought to the alternative (Lowes) which is no better or worse than HD. They have the same problems and downfalls as HD and you should try reading the reviews for every other home improvement retailer. It all sounds the same. One persons problem at one store will happen to someone else at the other store. It doesn't take a genius to realize that the costs associated with services provided are decisions made by someone in a suit and tie who does not work at a store but rather from some high rise building. It is not fair to hold an associate from a store responsible for your problem with policies that are made outside of the store. There are instances where a stupid associate makes a stupid mistake but HD is usually eager to make amends by offering discounts or store credit. Every store from Wal-Mart to month and pops general store is going to screw up and it is not fair to base your opinion off of one experience. Multiple bad experiences or continued failure on one issue is a different story and is a much more understandable complaint however in my experience of working for HD most people are quick to use one bad experience to shun the store forever. Go ahead and miss out on the benefits these places provide.
