Banner Chevrolet of New Orleans Complaint - Terrible Service - Poor Customer Auto Service

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA -- Part 1

On 18 May 03, I brought my '98 Oldsmobile Intrigue for maintenance which came close to $200.00.

When I went to pick up my car, I had noticed the passengerís seat was completely reclined with the radio on with a different station with the VOLUME & BASS turned up ALL the way with My SPEAKER BUSTED! The combination of BASS & VOLUME up had busted my speakers.

I turned around & right back to complain to DON (Srv Mgr). He said that no one did that & that I should not Play my radio with the Bass turned all the way up! I guess I am A Child!

Excuse Me, BUT, I am 55 yrs old & Really Don't Believe in GHETTO BLASTING!!! I believe in Taking Care of MY CARS! My CAR has 27,500 miles! Do you think I am running around with the Music turned up enough to Bust MY SPEAKERS! Give Me a Break!

Then DON tells me that the Speakers were just WORN with AGE & that "MY Car IS JUST A JINX"!! Who is a SIMPLE DILL here? I am a female, So, I am supposing to except any & all statements that DON dealt out! Everything except that is was caused by one of His service people! Funny how they were working before I brought it for service!

Don tells me that the cost of NEW SPEAKER would be around $55.

Mr. Bordelon was brought in on the issue. Mr. Bordelon said that the SEAKER would be ordered & replaced at No Charge to me But Don did not find this appropriate! I had to call several times to find out if it ever came in. After about 3 mos he says they were the WRONG SPEAKER & had to REORDER.

Finally after another month or so, it came in, So, he says. And had it supposedly replaced. I Asked for my original SPEAKER & He Said No because it was GM's Company Policy Not To. It was My SPEAKER.

Come to find out, the SPEAKER WAS NEVER REPLACED! THE SPEAKER was SWAPPED FROM ONE DOOR SIDE TO THE OTHER! VERY SHODDY SLOPPY SERVICE WORK of BANNER!

I WOULD LIKE TO GET A NEW SPEAKER, as I suppose to & I'll have it installed elsewhere.

Part 2

I did not have enough room to continue the referred complaint because there was another Major Complaint to accompany the first one and NOT an allotment of ample spacing.

Due to RIPPING OUT MY SPEAKERS, the POOR INSTALLATION THAT CAUSED MY ALARM WIRES TO BURN OUT MY RADIO TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY.

A mechanic who had checked to see why my alarm went off and SMOKING and getting ready to START A FIRE confirmed this!

NOW, MY RADIO is BOTCHED UP and the LIGHT PANEL LIGHTS DON'T work on it at night and the ALARM DOESN'T WORK WITH THE LIGHTS.

THIS IS THE WORST IF NOT THE MOST HORRENDOUS DEALERSHIP TO HAVE ANY SERVICE WORK DONE!

THE CITY OF NEW ORLEANS NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT THIS PREVAILING PITIFUL SERVICE AND SHODDY WORK!

THEY TAKE PEOPLE FOR GRANTED AND TAKE THEIR LIVES IN THEIR HANDS!
TOO BAD THEY ARE NOT ON THE RECEIVING END!

Then SOMEONE PAYS $20,000+ DOLLARS for a Vehicle to be TORN UP BY THEIR OWN SERVICE PEOPLE WHO DON"T SEEM TO BE QUALIFIED TO EVEN MILK A COW!

AND I THOUGHT I HAD A VERY NICE GM CAR UNTIL BANNER GOT A HOLD OF IT!

RESOLUTION:
A NEW RADIO TO REPLACE THE ONE THEY DEMOLISHED & MY ALARM WORKING WITH THE LIGHTS AS IT SHOULD BE BEFORE IT WENT TO BANNER FOR SERVICE!
