Cabelas Informative - Poor Service - In Store Service

Review by hardrode on 2008-12-26
BUDA, TEXAS -- The service at the Buda, Texas Cabelas has gone down terribly since they opened a few years ago. The associates try hard to avoid you so they don't have to help. I was there a couple of weeks ago, there were three registers lit. There was nobody at two of them. There was a guy talking to a girl at the other register (he was suppose to be at mine), he just stood and looked at me. Today I called to check on stock of an item. The girl on the phone was rude. The guy I spoke to took over 5 minutes to check the item, he said they had it. My wife drove 30 miles to get the item, only to find they did NOT have it.

I have been buying from Cabelas for 20+ years but that is about to change. They have gotten too big to care anymore!

I must disagree, at least as far as the Lacey, WA store goes. True, I submitted a complaint on Cabela's once before, when I was made to wait to speak to someone in the handgun department for over an hour. However, I had an experience today with a rifle case, and could not have received better treatment (see my review.) I chalk the one experience off to an aberration, as I have gotten great service since.
