Acer Computers Complaint - Refusal To Honor Good Faith Time Limit For Repair
My son received an Acer Aspire 3680-2682 Laptop for Christmas last year. About August it crashed. We took it in for a diagnostic and was told the hard drive was dying. Because we had had it less than a year, the computer store told us to contact the Company(Acer) and the laptop should be covered under the warranty. When I called, they were rude and told me that despite the fact the laptop was a gift, and had been in use less than 8 months, it had been bought in June of the year before and they would not cover it. I tried to get a receipt from the person who made it a gift, and was told a check copy was all they had that the receipt had been lost at Christmas by accident. Again the company refused. It is frustrating to try to get any help from this company. Also, no cd's were included with this computer so that I can get someone to fix it and restore the programs that were put on it from the manufacturer.
So now I have a laptop that can't be used and will cost as much as a new computer to fix without the proper cd's to restore it anyway.
