Target Complaint - Defective Lenses - Twice!
I decided after some looking around to get my latest pair of glasses through the Target Optical center in my local store - what a bad move!
(here's the quick version)
-In early August I ordered my glasses - which didn't come in until mid-September (after 3 and a half weeks of calling to track them down)
-By October there were these strange cloudy scratch-like areas on the surface closest to my eyes (after no abuse or mishandling on my part)
-Upon taking them back in to Target Optical, I was accused of spilling or splashing some sort of caustic chemical on the lens (um if it got on the lens wouldn't it have gotten in my eye? wouldn't I have noticed this?) but after some discussion they agreed to replace the lenses due to "defective coating"
-It took until mid-November to get them in (all the while I'm getting headaches looking through weird splotchy lenses!)
-Fast forward less than a month and guess what - it's happening again!
-I took them back in and the salesperson was angry and aggressive and insisted I leave my name and phone number and he would call me so as not to discuss a defective product in front of people who were in there shopping for glasses.
-He called me almost immediately to say they'll be replacing them at no charge - yea, we'll see how long that takes!
At this point - it's clear they know this is a problem. I don't want a THIRD pair of defective glasses! What miserable service and quality control!
