Microsoft Corporation Complaint - Fraudulent Renewals - OneCare
When you purchase Microsoft OneCare - after 12 months they send you an email to "inform" you that the renewal is due, and IF YOU DO NOT CANCEL they (Microsoft) will deduct the money from your account.
HOWEVER..!!! the cancel option is not available on the OneCare site till AFTER the renewal date has expired.... I have checked this with a few of my friends whom also installed OneCare round the same time I did mine... and confirmed that there is NO OPTION to cancel until the renewal date is passed. Then - if Microfost still have a valid credit card will just deduct the money from your account.
The joke is that I only used One-Care for a few monthas and found it to be very unreliable (amongst others OneCare did not work on Vista 64)
When I first received the email from Microsoft I tried to cancel my subscription the options was not on the OnCare page - it re-direct you to an Helpdesk System (not associated with the OneCare Antivirus application). After poking about for about 20 minutes I found a place to log an request for support and received and reference number... However, 30 days later I received an email stating that I have not cancelled and the amount would be deducted from my Credit card.!!!
