United Parcel Service Informative - Ruined Everyones Christmas In Seattle Area
SEATTLE, WASHINGTON -- ***UPDATE***
Called customer service today to try to get a refund for the $20 I spent on 2-day air shipping, which ended up being delivered to me 9 days later. I talked to a "supervisor" who again showed no sympathy or empathy for ruining Christmas, and said "we won't give refunds for any packages picked up the 21st, 22nd or 23rd". He then blamed me for buying Christmas presents "at the last minute"! I got pretty mad at that and the call didn't go so well afterward because I more or less lost it. I had no idea that UPS was this bad - terrible delivery service, terrible customer service - they clearly could care less about their customers.
We had snow in Seattle. UPS used that as an excuse to hold everyone's Christmas presents hostage. I ordered two packages online, and I was originally promised both of them before Christmas. Then the snow came and the UPS website tracking told me I would receive one of my packages on Friday the 26th, and the other on the 29th. On the 26th I waited home all day and never received it. I checked the website again late that night and saw that they rescheduled it to the 29th. I called customer service and asked why I couldn't receive it over the weekend and the agent said "they are closed on the weekend". Really. Apparently they think that Seattle can wait another 5 - 10 days for their Christmas presents. I also asked him why I received a package mailed to me from Colorado in just three days, in the snow and all. The agent said "we're not the post office". I asked if I could get a refund because I paid $20 for 2 day delivery for one of my packages and he said "well you can call back and try to get a rebate but it's going to be hard to give you a rebate when it's the snow's fault." I never received any kind of apology or any help at all from this very rude agent.
Today is Monday the 29th and I've still only received one of the packages I've been waiting for. I've learned my lesson now too and I won't be using UPS again.
