Circuit City Complaint - Sales Scam - Online Purchase Over the Phone
Resolution Update on 12/31/2008:
In the end, the management at my local store where I picked up my television worked on quickly getting my financing fixed to the 36 months, no interest that I was promised. Please read my Update on this review! Thank you!
I live in Louisville, KY and purchased a television set and a few other things from the Circuit City website a couple of days ago because of the big sales and promotions going on for the holidays. I actually called the Circuit City 1-800 number to make the purchase because I wanted to know if they would match Best Buy's 36 month no interest for purchases over $899.99 and the salesman stated they would if I used my Circuit City credit card, so I did. To make a really long story short, I found out yesterday evening that Circuit City only gave me 18 months no interest instead of matching Best Buy's 36 month no interest. After several phone conversations last night and today with their 1-800 number and then again to corporate complaints, they stated that they could not do anything for me on this. I then contacted my local store and talked with one of the managers there and they stated that they cannot control what the telephone sales people do but he stated that if I brought my receipt in, they would redo the order to see if they could get me the 36 month no interest. I will do this later this afternoon and let everyone know what happens.
I just wanted to make sure that no one else falls for Circuit City's telephone sales scam. This is fraud and I have contacted my local Attorney General about this.
Hopefully the manager of the store will be able to resolve this matter today but if not, I will definitely return my merchandise and give Best Buy my business and NEVER return to Circuit City!
