United Parcel Service Complaint - Poor Shipping Time And Package Placement
MONROE, WASHINGTON -- During our recent heavy snowfall here in the Pacific NW, I had occasion to order merchandise from across the US, and the seller chose UPS as the shipper.
I could understand the shipping delay to a degree due to the bad weather, intead of five working days it took thirteen, but when I learned that my package, and one for the neighbors, had been left by a sign half a block from my house, in a foot of snow, I called that unacceptable.
The driver did put the boxes in plastic bags, but I wonder how long they might have been there if I had not started the tracking process to learn of the drop off point...
We have a long driveway that serves several families and passage was difficult during the snowfall, but the UPS driver was within throwing distance. Would it have been too much to ask him to hoof it a couple of hundred feet to deliver?
UPS makes it very difficult to contact a human being in their maze of canned responses, and I can see why.
I stopped using UPS some time ago and this only confirms that I made the right decision.
No more UPS for me...
