Resort Equity Marketing Informative - Whew! Almost Made A Big Mistake - Thank You For Your Help!
ALTAMONTE, FLORIDA -- We just want to Thank you for saving us from listing our Timeshare with Resort Equity Marketing. They have called us for weeks even when we were on vacation in FL. They started at $899 for the service and promised to sell it within 90 days or to keep listing it until they sold it. Same story, corporations want the timeshares for their executives to stay at for conventions and our unit was valuable since Vacation Village at Parkway is one of the hotspots. They claimed we could get $22-26k for our unit which is more than we had paid and it sounded too good to be true. We did not jump at it but did express interest and received daily calls from Karen the sales agent. Interestingly another company had called us around the same time and wanted $1370 but did not pursue us. I asked Karen why they don't just buy from the Developers wholesale and she said they don't have time to sit through the tour and just want to buy them directly so they can trade them for when and where they need housing for their executives. When they contacted us at home yesterday, she asked me if the money was an issue. Of course it was since our yearly maintenance and taxes are due right now as well. She suggested we not pay the fees since the new buyer would pay them and to just wait since there was a grace period of several months. All of a sudden they were willing to accept half now and half when we sold our timeshare. When she went to ask her boss about this he approved our paying only $450 and said we did not even have to pay the other half when we sold the timeshare. My husband said Let's do it but I had a weird feeling still and insisted on waiting to do some research. We found this forum, read all the reviews and decided not to do it. THANK YOU!
PS. We were told any time they contact you run. We are researching other companies and do want to sell our timeshare. We will let you know how that works out.
