Wal-Mart Complaint - Failure to honor free tire rotation and balance purchased with tires
FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA -- I purchased new tires for my car from Wal-Mart in Indiana. Drove the car to Florida, and have been attempting to have them rotated and balanced at the local "supercenters" here every 6 months. I paid extra when I bought the tires for this service. I have only been successful at getting them rotated once, and then they didn't know that it was on the "free" terms and they somehow lost one of my hub caps before I got the car back. Each time, they seem to come up with a different excuse. last week, I was told that I had to wait 3 hours for them, even though they had NO cars in the bays at 10:00am in the morning. Yesterday, I drove to different supercenter, and they saw my Indiana license plate and suggested that I take the car back to Indy for service. The they brought out a "technician" who said they would not work on the tires because the front tires were more worn than the back, and they could not rotate the better tires to the front. That is baloney, as the car has anti-lock brakes and the manufacturer specifies just how to rotate the tires. I would not suggest buying the extra coverage for tires from Wal-Mart, and would not recommend going there for any service work. They also refused to refund my $38 for the service which they will not provide. They would also not balance any of the tires, even if they didn't rotate them. This is just a big scam.
